As the Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Hanny is responsible for leading PMI’s regional strategy and growth. His experience in aligning operations with global educational objectives and engaging with top-tier educational and government leaders ensures the cultivation of high-value initiatives and building of strong relationships within PMI and across the region.

Hanny brings over 25 years of extensive global experience in the education industry, where he has successfully demonstrated his proficiency in driving substantial growth by managing multimillion-dollar portfolios, spearheading national initiatives and broadening market presence by fostering the development of new communities as well as expanding into emerging markets. Prior to joining PMI, Hanny held leadership roles with various prominent educational technology firms, including D2L, Blackboard, and most recently Ellucian, as Vice President for the Middle East and Africa. Within these positions he played a pivotal role in strategy development as well as overseeing operations to drive transformative growth through innovation across various international markets.

Being a regular speaker at multiple conferences worldwide, Hanny is well known for his interactive keynote presentations on education and educational technologies. His deep-rooted commitment to lifelong learning and customer success in educational advancement is also evident through his active participation on various advisory boards, in addition to serving as an External Mentor at Ajman University Innovation Center (AUIC), a center dedicated to contributing to the improvement of the UAE economy through innovation.

Over the course of his career, Hanny’s contributions to his field have garnered him several international awards and recognitions, the most recent being the Distinguished Alumni Award from Athabasca University in Canada, where he received his Master of Education and Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education and Technology. During the ceremony, Hanny was also honored by being added to the Nova Scotia Legislature for his career achievements. Hanny is a certified life coach, reflecting his dedication to personal and professional development. Additionally, he holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science with a focus on Business Administration from Dalhousie University in Canada.
